About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is obviously to travel but to meet new people along the way and to grow and evolve from my experiences!

ABOUT ME

friendly, positive, enthusiastic, easy-going, or at least I hope so! Right now I want to do and see as many things as possible to broaden my horizons a little. I have lived in different countries before, but right now I need a change and am very open to meeting new people and doing new things in order to gain new experiences and insights.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to change the things you can change, don't worry about the things you can't change (although I'm not very good at this one!) and to not care about what others think of you (again, I can't say I'm always an expert at this one!). Be yourself, have a good time, enjoy yourself and make the most of every opportunity you get, otherwise you might regret it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have hosted along with my roomate many couchsurfers at our apartment in Québec. We have had an awesome time, and I mean awesome. It has been better than I ever could have imagined. We have met some extremly interesting and kind-hearted people, who have profoundly touched us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It only started a couple of months ago, but so far my experience has been hosting couchsurfers at our place. We've had a great time, our first couchsurfers brought us a beautiful map of the world, so we could stick a little note next to the country of each couchsurfer that stays with us. We had another couchsurfer who made us Caribou ( a Quebecois warm alcoholic drink - kind of like mulled wine) and who was so crazy about it we got him to paint a Caribou on the wall!!! We also had another couchsurfer stay with us who made us various objects out of model balloons!

Interests

Firstly and foremost I love learning languages, that has been my passion for a long time, although now it is turning to other things, such as teaching. I love reading, writing and sometimes I like to paint (although I don't do this very often). I also love to ski.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for movies, I love A Fish Called Wanda, The Godfather, and generally I love anything British. Irish movies can be good too though like Waking Ned.
As for books, I recently read 'e' by Matt Beaumont - a story about the office of an advertising company which takes place through a series of emails that go around the staff. This was EXCELLENT, I would highly recommend it. After the first chapter or so you start to see how the characters backstab one another and their real characters are revealed, it is very funny indeed.
As for music, I like a variety of things. It depends what mood I'm in!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming on the Great Barrier Reef, visiting the Vatican Museum in Rome, visiting Venice, snowshoeing in Québec, skiing in Québec, oh and walking on a frozen river!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have recently learned how to make a 'pouding chomeur' a traditional Quebecois dessert. It is very easy and cheap to make and tastes delicious!

Countries I’ve Visited
