Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Mickael!
I’m in my 40s and have been living in Niort since 2018.
⚠️IMPORTANT NOTE⚠️
After more than a decade on Couchsurfing, I’ve decided not to pay just to host or respond to requests. That means I probably won’t answer messages here. But I'm still happy to host you! If you want to connect, you can find me on Warmshowers (it’s free if you use the website) or even LinkedIn — just search for my full name: Mickael Marchese.
🏠 About My Home
I have two kids, so the number of available rooms depends on whether they’re with me or their mother at the time. But rest assured, I always have space for a guest:
- A comfy couch in the living room
- Another couch in the study (yes, double the couch options!)
Only one bathroom, though — so we’ll share.
📍 Location & Convenience
- 15 minutes’ walk from the train station (or 5 minutes by bus — totally free in Niort!)
- Supermarket at the end of the street for any quick needs
If you enjoy a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere and don’t mind a shared bathroom, you’ll feel right at home here.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was very active on Couchsurfing for several years, hosting travelers from all over the world. These days, life is a bit busier — I’m a happy father now — so I have less time and flexibility to host. Still, friends and friends-of-friends will always be welcome in my home!
I’ve hosted far more than I’ve surfed, but I do have a few special surfing memories — including one unforgettable stay in Siberia. Every single guest I’ve hosted has been kind, respectful, and inspiring, and they’ve all made me want to keep meeting more amazing people through the Couchsurfing community.
