ABOUT ME

Hi there!

My name is Mick van Olst and normally I live in an apartment in Amsterdam along with two friends. I'm 25 years old and graduated last year from Utrecht School of the Arts. Right now I'm living in Berlin and study at a place called Hyper Island. I'm a bigtime Lomography fan and very much into all sorts of photography. Besides school I spend a lot of time visiting venues in Amsterdam to check out the bands that me and my friends like. I also play a bit of saxophone myself. Besides that I do sports like field hockey and snowboarding (and since three years surfing).

Thanks to couchsurfing I did the biggest trip of my life so far. The Trans-Mongolian Express, along with my two friends Rutger and Nick. We've traveled across Russia, Mongolia and China, 10.000 kilometers by train!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Usually we host about once every six weeks or so, depending on how busy me (or my roommates) are with school. Though we always enjoy couchsurfers! Hosting is a lot of fun, usually we take time to show people around or take them along going out in the city or stuff like that. I've been living in Amsterdam for 2 years now, so I can show you quite some cool places :-) Also I've been surfing myself in Russia and China, hopefully again this summer!
