About Me

I recently moved to North Carolina from Southern Missouri, where I spent the last 8 years living on a fairly remote farm with around 70 people. I've noticed that a lot of things have changed, mostly with all the developments in social media tools. My first exposure to couch surfing came from a friend I was traveling with at the time and how he utilized this tool to not only get us a place to sleep for the night, but also to meet people and hang out with.

This blew my mind (since beforehand I was used to sleeping in the car between long drives). Couch surfing seems to be an amazing tool.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess right now.. The last person we stayed with suggested that people use this network to also find friends to hang out with.

Being that I moved to a new place, I'm pretty much in need of meeting new people and networks.

And maybe once I go traveling again, I will probably utilize this amazing resource.

Been playing guitar all my life. Currently it's been tough to stick with it since my life is going through a transition right now. Maybe the prospect of finding a band would help it out some.

Music, Movies, and Books

Been jamming out a lot to Dream Theater lately.. as well as all kinds of random music that doesn't seem to stick. I used to have a long list of death metal bands I used to go out of my way to watch live , but my tastes have changed more to groovin tunes.

For movies- fight club, requiem for a dream, fear and loathing in las vegas, Alice in wonderland, the matrix, fantastic planet, battlefield earth

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got a band together and played a set on short notice for two friends' wedding.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've gotten into trade skills living on the farm. I guess the city life seems to focus specifically on one skill set versus being widely versed. So I went with carpentry.

But I also like to teach music as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Soon I'll be working on a portable, compact guitar rig setup to be able to play some out there crazy psychedelic type shred guitar. Until then, I'm running pretty bare-bones at the moment.
