ABOUT ME

I was once told: "Kristina, you're a classy lady with a heart of gold and the mouth of a sailor." This is as close to a self-summary as I can possibly get.

I'm as calm as a fruit stand in New York and maybe as strange.

It's difficult to encapsulate everything you are in a tiny blurb, but I'm not one to shy away from a challenge. I've got a sharp tongue and a bit of sass in me, but it's wrapped in a sugary sweet package. Equate me with a delicious piece of warm apple pie if you'd like.

My inner monologue is quite LITRALLY in the voice of Chris Traeger. Yes, it is as annoying as you might imagine it would be. I'm doing my best to rectify the situation, but Chris' cadence is so upbeat that it's hard to swap him out for anyone else.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to have the pleasure of hosting anyone (but hopefully that will one day change). However, traveling and staying with fellow CSers has been an amazing experience so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In August '09, my best friend Sarah and I road tripped out west and couch surfed with some really great people in El Paso, Albuquerque, and Roswell. We've also stayed in Chicago. Each place had something special about it that I will always remember... it's amazing to me that there are kind people who open up their homes to weary travelers.

Sitting on the hood of a Chevy Impala, affectionately known as J-Lo, on the side of a random highway in Albuquerque, NM just to simply take in the night sky has been one of the most breathtakingly beautiful things I have gotten to experience.

Here's a brief list of what I'm really good at: making mix cds that will blow your mind, baking banana nut bread, throwing in random Wu-Tang lyrics into conversations without people noticing, making typos, being ridiculously logical and logically ridiculous, throwing back whiskey like a man, constructing balloon animals, and various other things that could hardly be used as any sort of marketable skill.

I am information sponge, I love learning anything anyone is willing to teach. I love hearing stories and talking about others' life experiences. Finding common ground within a sea of vastness is always a rad thing.
