Overview
About Me
I’m a 22-year-old creative on a mission to fall in love in each city and country I visit. I’m an Eritrean-American born in Naples, Italy and currently traveling throughout Europe collecting stories.
I love meeting new people and learning from them and the challenges and joys of travel. I am addicted to traveling - meeting new people, learning culture, healing and growing, and telling a good story.
You will always find me with a phone (or book/journal) in my hand, a camera around my neck and an assortment of bags, because I overpack time and time again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel, but I swear I should not be a traveler. I'm always late, never prepared and I constantly overpack (while still forgetting the essential items). I'm cheap, so I will take two days to get to a city than two hours if that means I have more money to eat. I'm a foodie. I constantly miss flights, buses and trains and I get easily frustrated when traveling a lot. Despite all that, I live off the high of adventures.
Every place I have been to, I have found people that made cities feel like a shroud of home. As much as I love touristy spots, I love seeing cities through the eyes of a local. I'm fascinated with hole-in-the-wall spots, street food and cheap drinks in random bars with strangers.
Traveling has been the most challenging and endearing experience, but I fall in love wherever I go. My heart is split throughout the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different genres. My current vibe is live music performances on Youtube, specifically “NPR Tiny Desk” sessions.
Romantic comedies are my favorite movies, no matter what. Anything with Julia Roberts or Black people I’m bond to love. I also love documentaries.
I don’t have a favorite book, but I’m reading The Thing Around Her Neck by Chimamanda Adichie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled to Japan to report on the experience of Black immigrants in Tokyo.
Teach, Learn, Share
Back in the US, I taught English, writing and theatre to high school students. I love to share my experiences and hear stories from other people. One of the best things about storytelling is how much we have to rely on listening to stories as much as telling them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good stories and a warm, humble heart. I am a simple woman and love talking about music, filmmaking, literature and travel.
