CURRENT MISSION
Writing and Traveling
ABOUT ME
I am currently trying to become a fiction writer while also doing some freelance writing to earn money. If I don't make it as a writer, I may (in a while from now) go back to school to become a philosophy professor. Then again, I may head up to the Canadian wilderness and never be heard from again.I have done a fair amount of traveling so far, but I want to continue to travel the world as much as I can. And when I say travel, I mean stay in places and get to know them. I think it's a mistake to try and fit in as many countries as possible in a short time. A week in Barcelona is much better than two days in Madrid, two days in Alicante, and two days in Barcelona. And a month in Barcelona is even better. While it's fun to travel with a friend/girlfriend, I'm now doing most of my travels alone. I seem to get much more out of them that way.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to avoid touristy areas when I can. If I were to get an animal, I would go to a shelter to get it. I like living/traveling in the city, but at the end of the day I'm a country boy. I tend to avoid technology.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I was backpacking through Europe, I couchsurfed a few times. They were all very good experiences, and I ended up making some close friends that I still (try) to keep in touch with.
Interests
My three strongest interests are fiction, travel, and philosophy, and I'm still trying to figure out which one is the most important (and also if there is a most important). Some other interests include: space/sci-fi stuff; film (especially old Japanese samurai movies); music (most genres); hiking; fishing; anthropology; art; history; sailing
