About Me

Hello! I'm Miguel, a curious traveler from Uruguay who is embarking on a journey around the world. This trip is made possible by selling raffles in an organization managed by the students of my university. I’m a calm, organized, and adaptable person with an open mindset, eager to experience new cultures, learn from people, and share great conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After three years of fundraising by selling tickets for the student raffle we organize at my university, I’m finally kicking off a 180-day trip around the world. This adventure is a long-standing tradition for our group of 250 architecture students, and I’ll be sharing it with my close group of 14 friends. I’ve heard about Couchsurfing for years, and I’m so excited to finally try it out! With a tight daily budget, we’re looking for affordable accommodations, but we’re more than happy to chip in as a way to say thanks for your hospitality. For me, Couchsurfing isn’t just about finding a place to crash—it’s about connecting with amazing people who make the journey even more meaningful.

Interests

I love music (I play the violin in my free time), gardening, and exploring philosophical ideas about time and human connection. I also enjoy practical activities, like cooking, and always aim to strike a balance between planning and spontaneity. I’m gluten intolerant, so I have a special interest in 100% gluten-free cuisine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am respectful of the spaces and customs of those who host me, and I’m always willing to help in any way I can. I can share gluten-free recipes, assist with organizing plans, or simply enjoy an interesting conversation about topics like science, music, travel, or even a series or book we both like.
