About Me

Hello,

My life is a mess, but a good one. 4 years ago I gave up my career as an Architect and moved to London to do what I've always wanted - music! I now compose music for TV ads, teach and perform live guitar. I always keep an eye for new opportunities and am soaking up London's vibe, unfortunately soaking lots of rain too...I have a wonderful Spanish girlfriend Andrea that is also living in London and my family is back in Portugal, including my 4months old brother Filipe - yes that is true, crazy! Im a very relaxed person and a listener, love to learn about all kinds of subjects and keep myself active and fit. Im open to new ways of thinking, care about the future of this world and am not religious. I love people with a great sense of humor so we can have a laugh together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im fortunate enough to have already traveled a lot, but I keep being hungry for more and to meet all kinds of people and live all kinds of experiences. It is always so much more enriching to have someone opening their house and hearts for visitors, rather than staying in a hostel or hotel. I traveled a lot in Europe but I want to explore more other continents now, such as Asia. I am very calm patient and love to share whatever I have to offer with people. I also love having a go at speaking all sorts of languages, even if it sounds totally wrong! Unfortunately Im not in the position now to offer my London flat as I live with the owner of the flat and am not allowed to do so, but I would love to. Im always happy to meet up, have a chat and give guidance and recommendations. I look forward to travel and meet more wonderful people, share great experiences and surf in some wonderful couches!

Interests

I have many! Music is my big passion and I believe that as long as it moves an audience in someway, no one is in the right to say it is bad music. I love all activities related to the sea - I used to surf a lot in Portugal, but now in London... I love playing tennis and watching matches - big Federer fan and love Djokovic too and his sense of humor. I enjoy a lot cinema, very good movies such as The Intouchables or As Good as It Gets are always amazing but every now and then it's also good to watch an 'easy' movie. I also love visiting galleries, appreciating art, or just going to have a pint with friends and have a laugh. I feel very blessed every time I get to contemplate nature and meet inspiring people.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is very hard to choose favorite music. I tend to listen to a lot of soundtracks - have a listen to Gustavo Santaolalla work, very inspiring. Love artists such as Cinematic Orchestra, Ben Howard, Jose Gonzalez. Love groovy music too such as Stevie Wonder and the undeniably greats such as Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin and others. Favorite movies include The Intouchables, As Good as it Gets, The Grand Budapest Hotel (love the scenarios), Pursuit of Happiness, Shawshank Redemption and many more. Books? I wish I could say I read a lot, but unfortunately I tend to not finish books..booooo

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few days ago I stage dived for the first time in my life hahaha

Teach, Learn, Share

Be compassionate, care about others, be idealist - some say idealism doesn't get you anywhere, but it isn't true - step by step we can change the world for better.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think that I can inspire people because I've decided to change my life radically and change my career path to do my passion. I've had lots of wonderful experiences, studied abroad 1 year (Slovenia), traveled a lot and live in a city full of cultures and interesting experiences. I believe that you should always be open to what people have to say and there should be no space for anger. Love always!
