CURRENT MISSION

Getting away from the everyday routines, being a designer but working 10 hours a day sitting in an office works for some , but ideas come also from new things you see and for me that is this journey. Whether these are the places, people,or the smallest things, I want to soak them up and see what it does, learn more about me, dealing with situations I´ve haven´t been before.

ABOUT ME

My name is Mika, I´m coming from Finland but have been living in Germany for little more than 10 years. I´ve studied Product design and lived in various cities, after being now since two years in Hamburg. After 4 years of work I´ve been thinking that I haven´t really seen the world, as that was a thing I was so looking forward after studies. But as so often things come differently than expected and before speaking about the if´s and when´s I decided to just do it and leave to seek some inspiration and adventures!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered it the first time when I traveled through Japan. I used it for the first time and even I didn´t stay in so many places, the few showed how amazing and important it is to share your storys with people from a culture so different than yours and through that, to get to know the country so much better through locals.

兴趣

Being put to situations I am not familiar with, makes me little unsecure, but even more happy when finding a way to deal with them. I´m a passionate cyclist, I love good food, always up for a swim, I really discovered hiking, always on the go rather than just "being" and watching for some series, rather doing too much than too less!

音乐、电影和书籍

My playlists vary from pop, alternative, electronic, jazz, blues with a curiousity to explore new artists, going to gigs, picking up recommendations. I love cinema, films that make an impact, even if not always in a positive way, but when it makes you reflect I´d say that would be a success as well. Please don´t judge me for forgetting the names so often;) but films that I´ve seen in the past like Lawrence anyways, Call me by your name, Girl, Ladybird have been on the top..

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Loving the situations to know someone through an other someone, even when travelling to the most far spots in the world. Views, that makes you just want to stay like sitting in the snow of our backyard, seeing the northern lights, having a picknick in the back of a friends van last summer in Tuscany where the nature was so magnificent it made you almost cry, standing on the top of Mount Fuji seeing the first sun rays... I could go on and on..

We learn new things everyday if it is through things you talk, you do, your mistakes that make you reflect, being aware and always open to everything, don´t judge, observe things that you don´t know. And well I could teach you Finnish - maybe one of the most special languages you´ve heard! :)
