Fun-loving, friendly, travel girl that just likes to see new places & meet new faces!

I'm a big outdoors girl- I live in Northern Michigan somewhere in the pine trees on the river & love to hike, kayak, do yoga, and trail run with my doggo (he's a Golden Retriever.. I know you were wondering).

I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a BBA in Management & currently manage an outdoor shop that sells all the things I love to do/use in my spare time- they say you won't work a day in your life if you're surrounded by what you love, so I did just that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is one of my favorite past times and my love for it grows with each new place I discover and explore. Couchsurfing seemed like a great way to travel inexpensively while meeting new people and discovering local culture in different places all over the world! I have many hostel, air bnb, home-stay (study abroad), and hotel experiences around the world- but couchsurfing will be a first for me! I am excited about the people I'll meet along the journey!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: anything from contemporary to country to rock. A few of my favorites are: The Lumineers, Pearl Jam, Zach Bryan, Vance Joy, Lord Huron... the Iist goes on.

Movies: Into The Wild has been my favorite movie since it came out & my family watched it together.. not only was the soundtrack all Pearl Jam (my dad and I's favorite), but my grandma and I had dreamed of visiting our family in Alaska together since I was little and it was awesome to see Christopher McCandles journey there. (Grams and I finally fulfilled our dream last June & made the trip to AK- incredible!)

Netflix is also life.. I love science fiction dramas like The Vampire Diaries, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, Stranger Things, etc.

Books: My favorite book is Looking for Alaska by John Green.. or pretty much anything by John Green. His quote "I go to seek a great perhaps" is what I live by.. it is my Twitter bio and my graduation cap even!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I can say I've done is ride a camel across the Sahara Desert in Morocco!

Study Abroad 2017 we had an excursion to the Desert where we camped in tents under the desert stars and arose to the sunrise over the dunes. We drank Moroccan tea, watched belly dancers, shopped for silver, and ate the most delicious meals... this was one of my favorite trips!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my fun-loving personality as I am very easy to get along with and can make friends with anyone. It's amazing what a good glass (or 2) of wine and some late-night laughter can do for the soul- I always have loved the saying "a stranger is a friend you just haven't met yet". I'd love to say I could cook you a great meal or teach you a new language- but my skills don't really lay in that area.. you'll have to graciously accept cheesy jokes & my company :)
