We endeavor to listen with eyes, ears, body, and spirit to be transformed by the unity we find within ourselves, each other, and all of nature so that we are able to recognize true justice and create beautiful peace.

ABOUT ME

We are two married individuals who love life together!

We are Theatre/Dance majors in our junior year at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. We are passionate about art, education, children, wellness, and the progression of world justice and thereby peace.

Mike has a history of theatre performance and is interested in film acting and film production. Throughout his life, Mike has performed in school and community theatre, choir, and dance. After a year of college at the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities, Mike transferred to Luther College. Mike is appreciating the education of free-thinking learning and progressive growth that he is receiving from Luther. Mike feels empowered to strengthen and flourish as an artist and human being.

Amanda's educational and vocational experience is in dance education. She has been conducting "Creative Movement & the Young Artist" research since January of 2009, teaching Creative Movement classes and camps in Iowa and Wisconsin. Amanda has been involved in dance and theatre all of her life and has taught movement for over five years. Amanda is deeply inspired by the genuine nature of children's creativity, clarity, understanding, and innovation. Amanda loves observing people and writing creatively from her experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

We exuberantly enjoy traveling and being enlightened by discovery. We love celebrating life together and exchanging our stories and experiences with others. We believe in following our attractions guided by love and respect. We view our lives as gifts and therefore know each day as an opportunity to give and receive.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are excited to stay with and host other CS members and experience authentic and positive interactions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We stayed with three different hosts during our winter break in 2010. We also stayed with two host couples in Ireland during our spring break in 2011.

Amanda can teach people how to make a water lily out of a napkin or how to sing a song naming the presidents of the United States.

Mike can teach people the basics of beat-boxing or explain and demonstrate how to do a back flip.

We would love to learn how to make others' favorite dishes of food, learn phrases in different languages, hear people's perspectives on politics and spirituality, and learn others' love stories.
