About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel as much as we can! Ready to adventure into the many wonders waiting for us!
ABOUT US
We met during a serendipitous chance encounter on the lovely island of Corfu, Greece. Carmen felt the thirst for travel and decided to ventured out of Spain and dived head first into a workaway.com placement at a beachside hostel. This is where Michael happen to passed along, during his multi month backpacking adventure throughout Europe.
Our MOTTO:
The World is a book, and those that do not travel only read one page.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was lucky enough to have hosted two amazing people, and sat down to have a quick leson by two masters of travelling from my home city. All of which were super awesome. This has definitely been a stellar start with the CS community!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Well I just joined the community recently and abosolutely love the concept. After hosting my first surfer and her commenting on how she enjoyed seeing "my" version of Toronto, I realized that is the most valuable thing CS has to offer. In essense it is a hidden reality that only the hosts or locals possesses, a perspective that the most advance guide book or review site can never offer.
CS is not just about free accommodation but a platform in which citizens of the world can sure with each other their slice of their favourite place to see/do/eat, their culture, their reality.
Interests
Mike: Rock Climbing, Martial Arts (Brazilian Juijitsu, Niten Ichi Ryu) and Ted Talks! Exploring the world and thinking about ideas. One thing I find myself enjoying chatting about is traveling and interesting stories and situations that come from it.
For example! The only time I've traveled was to China with my buddy, and long story short. We got hussled by a pack of grandmas, and after situation we had about 10$ between us and no phone. Man, I wish I could've taken a picture of my buddies face when the gravity of the situation sunk in.
Carmen: passionate about travelling, always ready to see new places, immerse into new cultures and met interesting people along the way! I love hiking, camping and swimming, specially at the sea. I always enjoy a good book, specially lying on a beautiful beach or under the shade of a tree.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Mike: Skydiving! Man, oh, man! That is one of the most exciting things I've done, can hardly imagine something more thrilling than throwing yourself out of a plane and hoping some string and nylon packed neatly in a backpack will prevent you from becoming a human meteorite.
Teach, Learn, Share
Mike: I became a certified lifeguard in university so I can definitely teach someone how to swim.
I have also snowboarded for several years now n I have taught a friend who is competely uncoordinated friend to snowboard I can teach u.
Carmen: I'm a certified Spanish teacher and I've taught English and French, so if you want to learn or practice, I'm happy to share my love for languages with you!
