About Me

I live and work on the Hainan Island (south of China), I've been here for one year now.
Whenever I can, I try to go and discover new places in China.

I previously lived and worked in Thailand, India, Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Ukraine, ...

I'm quite friendly, but I am generally pretty cynical too...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not always super-sociable, but when I am, I find it pretty cool to meet new people, share travel experiences, tips, thoughts, ...

I usually book hotel rooms, so when I heard about CS a few years ago, I thought that this could be a different kind of experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

For books, I like Bukowski, Thompson, Kerouac, the classical beatnik stuffs, I like French classics too, like Zola, Hugo, Voltaire, Céline,... some cool French contemporary writers like Virginie Despentes, Beigbeder, Houellebecq and many other things in fact, but throughout the years, I tend to forget what I read, I even started to write down summaries...

In music, I still mainly listen to punk rock and hardcore (even after all these years...), but I dig everything that's smart and emotional whether it's rock, jazz, electro,...

Shows I loved were: Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Wire, True Detective, Borgen, Real Humans, Mr Robot, The Killing, Sillicon Valley, IT Crowd, Black Books, ...

Movies: it's like what happens with books, but worse, I watch a lot of them, I like a lot of them, but I can't really remember them.
Lastly I enjoyed "Winter's Bone" and "Krisha", I usually go for drama, crime, thriller genres, I enjoy good comedies with dark humour (but I think they're hard to find...any recommandation is welcome), I also like soviet art-house movies, Belgian or Brit social dramas,...a lot of stuff, as long as it's filled with hopelessness and social decay.

I love to cook and try any kind of vegan food.
