About Me

I generally prefer doing outdoor things to indoors. I like individuals but tend to be shy around many people and dislike large crowds. When vacationing (on holiday) I enjoy seeing new things, either cities or sporting events. I like architecture, but do not like museums - I prefer art in place. For example, I find the Mona Lisa boring, but enjoy seeing cathedrals with sculptures and paintings. I like to try to new foods, but with some restrictions - I really don't tend to like seafood, and I don't get excited at the thought of eating snails. But a new pasta dish, or chicken, pork, or beef can be exciting. I usually end up at a McDonald's at least once when vacationing, which is somewhat strange since I rarely eat there when home. If I can pair sightseeing with an activity, like hiking, biking, or skiing, that's even better. My favorite time in a city I am visiting is usually in the evening, after most of the tourists have left (strange, since I am a tourist, but...).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like to meet different people, learn about different cultures, see new things. If I can get to know someone and vacay on the cheap, even better. It means I can do more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure it is amazing, but I took a 10 day/9 country vacation(holiday) to Europe that I planned personally. This was a big deal for me, because I am an American who only speaks one language. To be able to navigate flights, trains, buses and a ferry to see so many different sights, eat so many different foods, and just be able to function in countries whose native language is different from mine was a different and fun experience.

Countries I’ve Visited
