Hi there! My name is Mike and I am a recent college graduate about to explore Europe for 5 weeks on my own. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, and attended college in Syracuse, New York. I am a very proud gay man, and would love to get a feel for the LGBT scene in each city I am staying in. I'm 6'5, and proud of that as well!

I hope to write television comedy one day, but have my sights set on working at an agency first in LA. I plan to move out there in August!

I am an extremely creative person with a outgoing personality. All of my friends can tell you I love to laugh--comedy and humor is my life source. I love acting, singing, theater, exercise, improv, TV, film, culture, dancing, FASHION, and much more. Anything creative, cultural, and engaging. I am looking to be as adventurous as possible while abroad-- I hope you can help me fulfill these dreams!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I chose to travel abroad by myself so I could meet as many different people as possible. I think this service is amazing because it facilitates opportunities for people to learn and grow from each other--both guests and hosts. As much as I want to rely on guide books and website recommendations, I would MUCH rather have an actual person help navigate my own journey through each destination. I am extremely social, and this site is a wonderful place to facilitate an exciting European adventure with connections built into the process.

Interests

I am a sucker for all things fine arts. I live for theater, film, and Television. I am a complete pop culture buff, and I love sharing my tastes with other people. I also love learning about other people's interests and hope to broaden my own horizons.

I devour a lot of media, but I also love to be active. I work out about 5-6 times a week, and I would love to be able to exercise while abroad. That being said, I plan to do a lot of walking through each city and will be active no matter what.

I am also extremely in fashion. I hope to encounter each city's unique sense of fashion, and love to shop in stores unique to each culture. I love dressing well, and appreciate people watching more than anything else.

I love good food and great wine. I hope to learn about the best each culture has to offer when it comes to food. Couchsurfing is a great way to save so I can have more money for food.
