My name is Mike I am 19 years old. At 11am of April 9th 1997, I was born in Los Angeles, California. . When I was six months old, my parents separated but later managed back together, I have lived with my mom since 18 and then moved to explore the world. When I was young, life was all about playing and getting the things that I wanted, but as I grew up, I realized there’s a more to life than that. Life is a supreme gift to me. Although I was left alone with my mom, I never had a moment’s unhappiness or illness, growing up I assumed more responsibility realising there were many rules to follow. At the age of 6, I joined an International Education Centre.
One day, I came home from school and heard that I was going to be sent to Long beach to study. Then I realized life wasn’t just a fairytale which we could control; but life had control over us. I went to CSU last year and made friends easily, and learned Hindi and Nepali. I began to become an computer programmer as I realized sometimes changes happen, but its just better to get used to them. CSU had been an amazing experience for me but the standardized procedure of education never interested me. I sat for admission tests in many schools, including UCLA which I heard was one of the best schools in California. I was overpowered with joy when I finally got admission. I was introduced to a new curriculum that changed the outlook of my life. I could finally learn something which made me wonder, “Hey! I didn’t know that before!” Now, I have completed 2 years at CSU and have a wonderful career.
