ABOUT ME

I'm a student at the University of Manchester, studying Russian and Spanish. I'm currently on the last year of my course. Last year I lived in Russia (Yaroslavl', Saint Petersburg) and Spain (San Fernando), where I studied and carried out research for my dissertation.

I'm from Somerset in England, which is a pretty rural county, so I'm always happiest when I have green around me!

I like hanging out with my friends and getting up to all sorts of shenanegins, or just chilling out watching cartoons.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy the little things in life. I tend to see people missing a lot of the goodness, just surviving from one day to the next.

I also strongly believe that hard work should be properly rewarded, essentially: meritocracy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never hosted, but have had good experiences in Kiev and Moscow, travelling with my friend, Javi, as well as Tallinn and Madrid by myself.

Interesses

- Music, playing and listening. Also collect record albums.
- History, I think we have a lot to learn from events in the past. I'm especially interested in naval history.
- Languages, love 'em!
- Motorbikes, ride a 2004 Triumph Bonneville T100.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I have quite a few history books, but in terms of literature you can't go wrong with a bit of 19th-century fiction! Favourite novel: Crime & Punishment.

Music: 1920's - 30's jazz and blues, country, rock & roll!

Movies: I have fairly normal taste - Inception, Shawshank, Godfather, etc.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

Walking through Saint Petersburg along the frozen river Neva, a pretty unique way to see the city!

Watching all the old ships from the "Gran Regatta" in Cadiz sail out to sea.

Organizing an all-night party on an abandoned shipping jetty, also in Saint Petersburg. That got pretty crazy.
