ABOUT ME

We are a pretty average couple who enjoy a variety of activities. We love living close to forest preserves and wetlands, while at the same time have easy access to the city.

PHILOSOPHY

We want to leave this world a little better place. We garden responsibly and care for the environment. Laurie's job is to help immigrants acquire the language skills and cultural knowledge they need to deal with life in the U.S. She likes to think she helps make their lives a bit easier.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted many couchsurfers, and Laurie stayed with CS in Quebec and Louisiana. All excellent experiences!

We listen to lots of different music: classical, celtic, cajun, folk, rock, blues and jazz, latin, world music. Like all kinds of movies, from lighthearted romances to thrillers to foreign films. There are always books at our house--too many favorites to list.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Close encounters with nature in the woods near our house: Saw a very young fawn hidden in the brush, all alone, when we were walking in our woods; heard the howling of coyotes at dusk; saw a tiny hummingbird drinking nectar from the flowers in our garden...small occurrences but quite memorable nonetheless.

Laurie can teach you to knit, cook tasty vegetarian dishes, and plan your garden. She wants to learn Latin dancing. Mike can teach you how to measure twice and cut once, to swing a golf club, and to decorate for Christmas.
