About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"healthy body, healthy mind, healthy spirit"

ABOUT ME

*I am moving to Bilbao, Spain, to become an English Teacher.

I am a easy going guy who loves to live life by simple means. I love to surf, play guitar, sail, take photographs, hike, climb, ride motorbikes, garden, fish, play harmonica, read and write, and to travel. I am happiest in life when I can spend time in the mountains or by the ocean, enjoying the simple things that life has to offer....

PHILOSOPHY

Live to surf.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first CS experience just before Burning Man 2010, staying with some lovely folks in San Francisco. I have since only used it a few times but enjoy the exchange immensely.

Interests

....languages, surfing, guitar, music, reading, writing, fly fishing, photography, art....ah the list goes on!....
I simply love to be learning something new everyday, and meeting new people in exciting environments, ideally in the mountains or ocean, or in some way through nature...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled 20,000km in 85days by motorcycle with my father around Southern Africa. To share so much with my father was fantastic and very inspiring.

Sailing in a private sailboat across the Atlantic Ocean.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel that I am more of a "jack of all trades" than that I have particular skills. I feel confident in -

Cooking (for a dinner party or such)
Au Pairing (I have worked with children as a "Manny" and worked with children of all ages through coaching or teaching sports)
Sports Coaching
Handyman ( I like to use my hands to fix, build and repair things, with carpentry being my favourite medium)
Languages ( I speak basic Spanish, Italian, Afrikaans/Dutch, but find I learn fairly quickly)
Teaching (I love to teach in general, and find that once I grasp an idea, I can usually teach it with a passion and understanding to others)
Photography (I love it so, and am always excited about taking new photos/portraits
