ABOUT ME

I thrive in the outdoors. I hike, bike, and ski. I enjoy live music. I love sports, mountains, beer, wine, coffee, maps, geography, bicycles, road-trips, Italian food, and doing things on a whim. I can get along with just about anyone. I'm in search of a profession that pays me to travel the world...any suggestions?

I've surfed many-a-couch and many have surfed my couch. I'm down for meeting up or merely offering info about the places I know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Finnish folks are delightful.
German girls can rip it on skis.
It's easy to quickly become pals with a good dog.

Books: Atlas of the World, National Geographic Magazine, Tom Robbins, Jack Kerouac, John Muir, Mark Twain.
Music: Bluegrass, rock, jazz, folk, blues, reggae. To name a few, Jerry Garcia, John Hartford, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Paul Simon. I'll leave it at that, but let me stress that music is a love and major part of my life. Attending live performances consumes much of my time.
Movies: Ghostbusters, Rear Window, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. (To name just a few.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

More than just one:
Whitewater rafting class IV's in Colorado.
Seeing a bald eagle swoop down and snatch a fish out of a lake while fishing on a rowboat in northern Wisconsin.
Experiencing the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series!

Teach, Learn, Share

New Zealand is a beautiful land with beautiful people.
Mexico is a great escape when life gets too fast.
Haines, Alaska is one of the most beautiful towns on Earth.
I've lived in Chicago, Michigan, Colorado, Oregon, New Zealand. I have strong ties to these places, as well as a few spots in Alaska. If you have any questions, let me know, I might be able to help you with a couch or give info about the local scene.
