Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent two months in Peru over the winter of 2008 where I met a lovely girl named Alix. We were delayed leaving Arequipa due to the rain and fog issues so we made the best of it. We spent five days being good buds and twenty-four hour sidekicks. She told me about the whole CS thing when we got back to Lima and also introduced me to her host. I thought the idea was really cool so I decided to give it a try myself. Since my trip to Peru I have experienced CS in many other countries around the world where I have surfed and hosted. I look forward to using this network to meet others in the future.
Interests
I love to do many things and most of them include being outside. I love road tripping, riding atvs, going for walks, swimming, boating, traveling and many other things.
Music, Movies, and Books
Highly diverse in all catagories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent some time in the Philippines a few years back where I experienced a few really amazing things. I enjoyed a Sinulog Festival in the second largest city in the Philippines called Cebu. I also visited two of the most beautiful waterfalls Ive ever seen in my life. I did my first and only trek through the Colca Canyon in Southern Peru over the winter. It was my first time doing a group activity with such diversity. I was also the biggest guy or person in the group so that made things even harder. The first two days went pretty smooth considering I was dealing with a urinary infection. I was so happy when I was blessed with some meds from my German Doctor group member. The morning of the third and hardest day was definately a major challenge for me. It was 3-4 hours of straight up walking through narrow trails. I felt like a big steam engine chugging along the mountain. I was so thankful to have a wonderful girl from Holland to keep pushing me to keep going. When I made it to the finish line I was greeted by the rest of my group with plenty of high fives to go around. I cant wait to do more challenges like this and bigger.
Teach, Learn, Share
I feel there will be plenty for me to teach down the road but Im hungry for knowledge this stage of my life.
