About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make my hobbies and passions a way of life! I will accomplish this by applying my skills and knowledge in the field of education and photography while simultaneously fulfilling dreams of travel to parts of the world I have yet to visit.

Whether I’m using my TESOL certificate to teach English in a foreign land, helping educate people about how to capture that perfect image, or somehow involved with education management, I do not plan to return full-time to the corporate world again.

In addition, I plan to promote the images I capture along my journey and exploit my writing ability so that I can sustain this lifestyle for as long as I want.

ABOUT ME

Growing up, my mother used to tell me they broke the mold when they made me. As a little kid I had no idea what she was talking about but years later when I left the confines of my childhood home, people started telling me they've never met anyone quite like me. Was that a good thing?

I'm as close as I can be with my family being half way around the world and from the stories I've heard over the years, I'm 1/2 Italian, 1/4 German, and 1/4 Polish, or something like that. I grew up a city kid in North Philadelphia and have lived in a few different US cities, but Seattle is where I most recently called home before beginning my epic journey in Sept 2014.

PHILOSOPHY

I have many but here are my top 3:

- Life is death without adventure, and adventure only comes to those who are willing to be daring and take chances.

- The world is too big to live in one place your entire life.

- Make an impact.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I had a home in America, I hosted surfers and when I had time I used to show them around Seattle if that's what they were looking for. I also provided suggestions for those coming to visit but do not end up surfing with me. I've surfed myself in several countries and plan to continue to do more surfing during my current adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Long before Couchsurfing became a website I was sleeping on friends' couches when I would go visit them. When I found this CS.org community back in 2006 I thought it was a great idea and joined. I have since surfed couches in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA and Vietnam, and have hosted surfers from several countries as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Oh, the travel stories I can tell and the images I can share would take weeks but I also love to cook and don't mind sharing the cooking/cleaning duties if we decide to make lunch/dinner from time to time. Also, I have life experiences to share and being a certified English teacher I could even help you learn the language if that's something you are interested in.
