About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My 5 year mission, to boldly go where I haven't gone before. Also, to meet good people along the way and help out weary travelers. I'm also probably going to go places I've been, but really like.

ABOUT ME

I'm a little bit of a computer nerd, which is a great way to pay my bills and do interesting work. I sometimes get to travel for work, but I want more, so I'm looking for ways to see the parts of the world I haven't yet experienced, and to meet other travellers who are on the same quest.

PHILOSOPHY

Follow the golden rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll offer up my couches and/or spare bedroom (when it's available) and look to crash with people who want to host a relaxed, honest contributor.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted friends of friends before and always enjoyed it. I've also stayed with some Chinese exchange students in Spain - what a great couple of nights. We talked about all kinds of things, really connected and had a great time. Then I met up with one of them in Paris about a week later, on a total fluke. Fun times. I've met up with another American traveling in Spain and we spent an afternoon exploring Barcelona. Then met a local in Barcelona to talk about her upcoming trip to Vancouver, BC and give her some tips on what to see and do.

Interests

I enjoy technology, people and different cultures. I am a native English speaker, but I've got basic survival skills in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and French. I have a good time drinking a pint at the local pub, reading a book, watching a movie, talking and people watching at a cafe - you name it, if it's got something to do with people and places - I'm probably having a good time with it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy almost all kinds of music - it's more about the feel of a song than the style of music or artist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sunrise from the top of the Haleakala volcano in Hawaii. It was freezing cold, and breathtakingly beautiful.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My sense of humor, travel stories, help cleaning the kitchen (or whatever). Good times and good conversation.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
