Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movie is either "Pulp Fiction" or "Groundhog Day". I also loved "Briget Jones", "Four Weddings and a Funeral", "Notting Hill", "Sleepless in Seattle", "Titanic", the "Terminator" movies and various other action movies such as "Die Hard".
I have watched lots of Danish language films too, such as "Festen", "Bænken", "Arven", "I Kine de Spiser Hunde", "Gamle Mænd i Nye Biler" osv. It's a good way to learn the language.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is a true story - Not a joke - It really happened.
I once worked as the Office Manager for a travel company that specialised in London Sightseeing tours by coach.
The Managing Director said that every person who worked for the company, including me and all my office staff, should regularly go on our coach tours. We had to report back to him if there were any problems. So once a month the staff took it in turns to join the tourists on a siteseeing trip.
I was on the coach one day, sitting at the very front, right behind the driver. An elderly American lady of about 70 was sitting next to me.
The coach was going past the Tower of London and stopped at a set of traffic lights. In England, like in many countries, when the lights are about to turn green again, you hear a bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep sound.
The lady turned to me and said
"What is that noise for ?"
I replied,
"Oh, it's for blind people, so they can tell that the traffic lights are about to go green."
"REALLY!" said the American lady, open-mouthed, "In my country, they don't let blind people drive at all!"
