CURRENT MISSION

I am currently attempting to complete my Masters Degree in environmental science to compliment my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. After my time in Iceland, the world awaits. I will travel the world with my fiance and broaden my experiences.

ABOUT ME

I am 24 years old currently living in Akureyri Iceland studying at RES, the School of Renewable Energy Science. I was born in Canada and lived in Saskatoon Saskatchewan most of my life. I am engaged to be married to my girlfriend of 3.5 years, she is currently back home in Canada while I study abroad.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect is the most important factor in any relationship; have it be friendship or love. It is important to respect ones self as well as others.

Life is something we all share in common. Our experiences, good and bad, have lead us to the point we are today. If you can be happy at this point in life, then all things that happened were for a reason.

Never show regret but always remember that you will never know where you are going, unless you know where you've been.

We all make mistakes. The difference between good and the bad comes when we either learn from or repeat those mistakes. Every action involves consequences, accept responsibility for those consequences and you have done good.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

To me couch surfing is an excellent way to meet new friends. Although I have not been on CouchSurfing for much time, I live with a polish student who has hosted many people over my last 6 months in Iceland. Its a great experience to host other travelers, hear their stories and share with them mine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I would say the most interesting experience would have been with a couple we just hosted. They were from France and had traveled all around Iceland on a tandem bicycle. A very ambitious trip considering they were also biking with a very happy and healthy 11 month old. To see their joy in experiencing such a beautiful country in such a unique way was a great experience.

Intereses

Since being in Iceland I have become interested in wall climbing (and rock, although I'm still terrible at it). Back home I loved to ride my motorcycle. I would have to say this is my life long hobby, one that will never die. Since I was 11 years old I have not been without a motorcycle. It plays a strong role in who I have become. Other interests include staying active, hanging out with friends, and meeting new people.

Music is my interest. I am always interested in new groups or soloists. I mainly listen to hip hop, but also enjoy indie music.

Seen: Beautiful British Columbia:
- wake up on a houseboat floating on the Shushwaps, fog rolling off the lake, the air cleaner then you can imagine and the water clearer than the air. Surrounded by friends, family, and high green hills. 25 degC, sun shining bright at 8 in the morning, and a Van Morrison CD playing "Into the Mystic". Perfect.
