I am a high school math teacher. I've lived in the Seattle area my entire life but have spent a lot of summers in Hawaii and Japan. I can't dance, I work at a farmer's market on the weekends, and I skied over 1000 miles downhill this winter.

As a traveler I know that some of the best experiences come from the recommendations of locals! Along with just the regular sight seeing I would like to dip my feet into the local culture and I feel the best way to do that is with a little help from somebody who lives there, even if it is just a couch for a night. Rather than knick knacks I like to leave a new place having made new friends.

I love outdoorsy things like hiking, skiing, horse jumping, biking, jumping off rocks in Hawaii into the water, etc. I also really like reading and both playing and listening to music. I love kids and I really enjoy teaching!

I volunteered at a camp for kids from the affected areas of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster hosted in Kyoto, Japan. We even taught some kids to ride a bike for the first time since they weren't allowed to play outside at home.
