About Me

'The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.'

Six years ago, I left my Belarusian home and went abroad to study in Vilnius, Lithuania. After that, I moved to Warsaw, Poland to continue my studies. I spent a semester in Athens, Greece as an Erasmus student. At the moment, I am doing my internship in Vilnius, again, as a journalist at a newspaper. Basically, I am not steadily settled anywhere. I love it, I love dynamics, drastic changes, but my home, Belarus, is always in the heart. I am definitely looking forward to getting back and being close to my family. However, now I am always ready to find myself at the most unexpected place on Earth.

Absolute ruthlessness in relation to myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Those containing feelings and experiences.

BOOKS: unfortunately, at the moment I simply do not have enough time to read some fiction. Each and every day I am reading something which enriches my knowledge in the world politics. However, I am not strictly narrowed only to that very scientific scope. I am also interested in law, sociology, economics. Sometimes I am dreaming of reading something by Dostoevsky or Gogol, but I have to do so much research that cannot afford something else. However, I'd love to. There are so many interesting books in the world. The only fear of mine is that I do not manage to read them all.

I have a couple of favorites. For example, Irvine Welsh and Hunter S. Thompson. I've always been impressed by the way Irvine Welsh represents this real local life in Scotland. Moreover, his books are utterly satirical. I've read them all. As for the Great Shark Hunt, this person will always remain a great source of inspiration for me. There is a spanless feeling of freedom inside of him. That is what he taught me.

MUSIC: different kind of, quality matters. Blues and jazz, for instance. Why? Because they come from the very heart. Blues is about life, it's about love, between a man and a woman. It is undoubtedly beautiful. Such music will make you feel.

Though I am not into raves and parties right now, that was definitely some great time in my life, when I was deeply involved in electronic music, listening, playing, producing, having lots of friends and activities. That is a great pleasure to recall those years. However, I am still likely to visit any kind of event, if some quality music is playing there, be it drum'n'bass, or house, or techno, whatever. I have so many favorites there. It does not matter what style of music you play if it is indeed MUSIC.

MOVIES: I do not watch movies at the moment. I prefer reading books predominantly. However, there are some fascinating historical films. Hollywood is not for me.
