About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am happy to say I have moved to San Juan Cosala, Jalisco, Mexico and am living the life I have dreamed of living. I hope to meet wonderful like-minded spirits and share the joy in each day I am here in this beautiful mountainous place on Lake Chapala Mx

ABOUT ME

I love my mom, who is my best friend. I love my standard poodle, Milagro. I am fortunate to have many very good friends scattered all over the U.S. I enjoy watching movies, classics, indies, foreign...love them all! I like reading, mostly fiction, with some nonfiction thrown in now and then. I love music of all kinds...and love my Ipod that allows me to take my music with me where ever I go! I enjoy good food and wine with good company. Now that I am in Mexico I am going to take Spanish lessons and art lessons...to inspire me and bring out the inner artist in me.

PHILOSOPHY

I truly believe we are world citizens and I wish we could eliminate the borders and treat each other with respect. Because of this, I want to change the way I have lived so far...and move completely away from my "comfort zone". I have done this and I am now living in wonderful Mexico absorbing all that I can of this wonderful culture and people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think Couchsurfing is an incredible idea and look forward to meeting lots more interesting people now that I am in Mexico. Just reading the profiles on the Couchsurfing network is like reading a Who's Who of the most fascinating folks around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was in Beaufort, SC I had a few couchsurfers who were all perfectly delightful and interesting people...and know I will have more of the same in San Juan Jalisco Mexico.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Last Time We Met, by Anita Shreve I just finished watching a movie called North and South that takes place during the Industrial Revolution in England. I love Jane Austen, as well as many other British authors and like reading and watching the movies...especially if the are done by the BBC/PBS

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I traveled to Europe-Spain for the first time a few years back, I drove around Andulacia and fell in love with the countryside and the architecture, especially the Moorish influenced. Visiting the Alhambra was by far the most incredible experience I have had...its magnificence is absolutely breathtaking. Now I can add picking up and moving my poodle and me to Mexico, traveling by car from South Carolina to San Juan Cosala.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to improve my very beginner Spanish with some Spanish speaking couchsurfers...along with learning all that I can of this amazing culture here in Mexico. Couchsurfing through Mexico is high on my list of things I want to do once I am settled in my new home.
