ABOUT ME

Hola! I am a curious traveler new to CS and hoping to become even more engaged with the world around me through shared experiences. I grew up in the beautiful state of Colorado, exploring nature and art while attending a Waldorf school. I consider myself very lucky to have had such experiences, and believe that my itchy feet were partially inspired by the incredible beauty around me and the cultural scope of my education. I am a very independent and laidback person. I like to really get to know a part of the world when I travel, taking things a little slower and experiencing everything wild and unique that truly creates a place. I love meeting people along the road who share this love of culture and all that is different and unknown! In summary, I am young and easygoing traveler, looking to explore more of the world and create relationships with the people who truly live in our world and recognize how much it has to offer in so many ways.

Intereses

I love food. Food makes my world go round. and the culture that surrounds cuisine is universal and yet unique in every place. I am also a huge fan of language and communication. I fell in love with the Spanish language, and from there this grew and morphed into an awe at the idea od how we communicate, with and without words. At home, I am a barista and student at University of Puget sound. I love being outdoors, being social and active in any way. I grew up riding horses and just around all sorts of animals in general, which kept me grounded and still does. Film photography is my current creative passion, and I think its going to keep me looking outward and observing the world, from behind the lens or not, for a very long time.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Just a week ago I was sleeping in the Sahara desert, under the stars and a barely full moon, when a sandstorm whipped up and drove me into the relative shelter of an abandonded nomad building. What a way to be woken up, but more than that what a way to begin to realize the completely foreign power of the desert, how quickly the silence and soft rise of the dunes can disintegrate into a shrieking, shifting, physically assualting wind.

In Barcelona, caught lost in the rain after two days of travel, a man with whom I shared no common language went out of his way to inform me that my pack was soaked through, help put on the cover, and walk me at least a mile to the nicest backpacking hostel he knew of- no expectations, not looking for anything in return: I arrived, he shook my hand, and walked back in the direction wed come from.
