ABOUT ME

I'm always up for an adventure and I'm sure I'll find plenty to do as I get acquainted with a new city. I love to shoot arrows, to find new things to eat or recipes to make, and to take my dog Gadget out to sniff and explore. Hopefully we'll find plenty of places to do all this in LA.

On weekends where my friends and I don't have anything planned, I like to lose myself running in the park or biking on the road. Definitely like to be active - kinda re-energizes me after a long work week. I enjoy running for fun - I'm not particularly fast but I have finished a marathon and a bunch of 1/2 marathons.

I read in a book that running joins two primal feelings - fear and happiness. We run when a big animal is chasing us and we run when we win the lottery. For me, running provides both an exciting adventure and calming zen-like state.

Some things that make me smile: Peanut Butter, Nutella and Banana Sandwich, Wired Magazine, Chocolate milk, Chuck, Firefly.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting, but please know that with the number of requests I get from being in NYC, I'll usually ignore copy/paste messages.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to the Maine Lobster festival in 2009 and had a fantastic time with couchsurfers there. I've always had fun when people crash at my place.

Music - If you shuffle my ipod, you'll find that about every third song is Explosions in the Sky. Along with them, you'll find Sigur Ros, Jonsi, Mogwai, Caspian, Do Make Say Think.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Finishing the Big Sur Marathon. Everything people tell you about getting the high when you cross the finish line is true. However, the last 4 miles were extremely painful.

I'm a half decent cook, so I can definitely teach a dish or two and as the family dessert chef, I'm always experimenting with new sweets.

I love to shoot arrows and will happily teach anyone who is interested the finer aspects of the art form.

I'm always ready to share funny/sad/random thoughts/stories/musings.
