To translate everything I experience into something written, something beautiful. To make an impact on someone.

ABOUT ME

Grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, in the States. Am attending University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm on a Semester Abroad in Oslo, Norway and looking to travel around Norway and Scandinavia and meet as many cool people as possible. (Same applies to nerdy people, fun people, dorky people, talkative people...)

I am a dork. I like to dance, poorly. I read and write poetry. I also perform it. I am a vegetarian and feel passionate about food in our world (especially the food industry in the USA) and enjoy being outdoors. I like to see things. I like to take in as much as possible. I love walking around. I've gotten more fidgety lately. I drink too much coffee most days. I know the words to a lot of 90s pop songs, and will most likely sing them on command. I'm learning to speak Norwegian. It's definitely screwing with my ability to speak Spanish.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm working on saying Yes. Trying new things. Improving myself. Understanding that I am the only person who will ever get to live my life- so I better do it well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm so brand-new that I have almost nothing to say here. Again, working on it.

I did stay with a CouchSurfer in Tromsø, Norway. He was the best, and certainly helped renew my faith in humankind and our ability to help each other out without too many/any expectations.

Interests

Writing, Poetry, Cats, Music, All things food- cooking, eating, reading, learning. Part of studying Social Justice and being a writer also means I have an inherent interest/passion for analyzing everything and trying to work through the world in my head. I spend a lot of time in my head, working out the right way to express everything I think/feel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Competed in a Collegiate National Poetry Slam and was named Best Male Poet of 2010.

Survived my first 2.5 years of College.

Have completed 2 Half-Marathons.
