ABOUT ME

My place is taken by travelers from Australia til September 15th.

I am 34 years old, living in Western Canada.I was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada 13 years ago. I teach high school PE and bunch of other subjects -Math, Science and Socials to add to the pile! I am an avid sports enthusiast and at different points in my life I have tried swimming, fencing, horse back riding, snowboarding, surfing rock climbing and salsa dancing. I also played soccer and basketball in high school.
I enjoy travelling and meeting new people, especially if they are cool :) Love new experiences and will go an extra mile to get them!

PHILOSOPHY

Anyone can learn anything, provided they have enough time and instruction.

Be nice to them if you want them to be nice to you

One cannot help enjoying the view from the top if he worked hard enough to get there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I set up couch surfing a few years back, but rented my place out:( cuz i went back to school. But I am back baby, so there is a pad in Vancouver that u can surf.
I also heard lots of cool stuff about CS from my friends, they went to Europe and all over N. America using CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a few times now and found the experiences quite rewarding. I truly enjoy meeting people earning about cultures and have stimulating conversations

I love movies that make you think, but I can watch pretty much anything, exception -horror.

Music -I grew up listening "The Beatles", thanks to my parents, so that explains my music preferences. However, I listen to anything from classical to rap

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Came to Canada with 100$ in my pocket.

Bused around the States in 1999 while working in summer camps

Learnt how to ride Western with the real cowboys from Idaho

Went to the Olympics in Athens by myself while being the ONLY Canadian there who was not a participating athlete, a member of a delegation or a athlete's family. Proud of it (however I also cheered for Ukraine!)

I'll teach you anything you deem to know of less than me :)
I'll learn just about anything that I am a less of an expert in than you are (exception -bad, or illegal things, those I neither teach or learn :)
