About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Love Life - and enjoy the short time we have on earth. Take advantage of opportunites!
ABOUT ME
My friends have described me as adventurous, and are not surprised if I made my way to the front row at a concert or luck into great seats at a Broadway show. They would say I'm very active and love life. I'm a soccer mom and drive a van, but they aren't surprised to see a kayak or a mountain bike packed into the van. Family is important, she has a great husband and two fantastic kids.
PHILOSOPHY
Trying to fit everything life has to offer is tough. So - I try to be as efficient as I can so I can do as much as possible. I live in a small town, and there are still more things to do here than I can fit in! We live on the Ohio River, and I've been the only boat out on a Saturday morning. I've been to a beautiful park with fantastic trails for biking, and no one around for miles. There are also many talented people in the area that share their talents. Dance instructors, Actors Guild Community, Crew Coaches, Rock climbers, etc...
Interests
Although I work in an office 40+ hours a week, I recently got an ergonomic stand up desk setting so I don't have to spend so much time sitting down. After work, my husband and I fit in ballroom dance lessons one day a week. We aren't that great, but we have a good time. Every Thursday in the summer June through August we have "Thursday Night Volleyball". It's an open house for our friends. We have a sand volleyball court, swimming pool and hottub. There is fun for all ages. We also have a mug club, so for $10 a month, you can drink beer from our keg. It's a great way to start the weekend early and keep connected with all of our friends. We've been doing that for over 15 years.
I love to kayak, snow ski, play volleyball & racquetball. This spring I'm going to build a wooden kayak, which will take about 80-90 hours, so I really hope I can scrape together that many hours!!

Music, Movies, and Books
People make fun of me, because I still love 80's music. Although anytime I get the chance to hear/see live music, it doesn't matter what kind it is. My daughter plays the cello, so I especially like to hear her play.
I like NCIS, CSI, Dancing with the Stars and Castle.
I listen to a lot of books on tape, and particularly like Randy White who writes about a marine biologist on Captiva Island in Florida.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran with the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain
Attended our friends wedding in Talkeetna Alaska in the middle of a river. Caught a King Salmon right before the ceremony, and during the ceremony (on a sandbar in the river) an eagle was flying over head.
Kayaked at Crystal River in Florida with Manatees swimming all around me. When I continued down the river, thinking I was past the manatees, I screamed when I put my paddle in the water and discovered a manatee swimming along with me directly under my boat. What an adrenaline rush!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning culture through people. I don't pick it up in books very easily, and most of the time going to a museum and reading the signs doesn't do much. I learn best my getting to know people and learning about their culture from their experiences. I take advantage of learning from everyone. Cab drivers especially! I've learned great lessons about Jordon and Haiti from cab drivers in Chicago and Miami!
