Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Mim, I'm new to couch surfing and I'm a real people person. I love learning, love to have company and really enjoy cooking. I enjoy being creative and have recently re-trained as a carpenter, I also love to be outdoors and experiencing the area I'm in. I have been a wedding photographer, a raft guide, a kayak and surf instructor, bar person, teacher of environmental awareness and a site carpenter, so I have a really varied source of discussion topics!
I'm currently travelling around central America and Mexico, volunteering as I go, staying a while when I like a place and making plans as I need to. I'm heading to California soon to see Yosemite and experience the West coast, so maybe see you soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested in finding out about the 'real' culture in the places I visit or live, to find the best coffee shop or street food vendor, to hear the local stories over shared food and to learn about the history of an area. I love to chat and would be happy to offer insights into my own culture and experiences, as well as any skills I have which may be useful while I stay!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: funky house, drum and bass, rock, country and western, folk, classical, very varied taste!
Movies, adventure, action, comedy, drama, thrillers, not horror though, I can't do horror!
Books: I love fiction, adventures, Lord of the Rings type things, Paulo Cohelo is one of my favourite authors and I'm interested in the power of the mind, so I'm reading about that right now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving over Lake Taupo in formation at sunset. Wonderful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach all sorts of things, from English to surfing, to basic carpentry and cookery. I'm also not an expert in anything so I'm more than happy to learn about any of these things and much, much more. In fact, I'm looking to improve my carpentry skills as well as my Spanish conversation so any help here would be appreciated!
