About Me

I'm a youngest-sibling, Gemini, mixed-race Registered Dietitian that specializes in eating disorder recovery. I can talk about my job for days; I'm very passionate about it. I started private practice in 2019 and haven't looked back. I often say my business is my baby.

My other baby is my dog, who is still a puppy but a big one at that. The people at his dog-school call him the "Gentle Giant." He's a 65 lbs Saint Bernard, Great Pyrenees mix and growing. I changed my work schedule to allow for breaks to train him. He is crate trained, potty-trained, and will stay on a paddle board without treats.

When I'm not taking care of my clients, my business, or my puppy, I'm taking care of me and that most often looks like spending time outside and dancing. The activities I enjoy outside range from picnics to hiking to paddle boarding. My dancing ranges from Salsa, hip hop, Afro Beats, and any good ol' dance party. On weekends I often leave the city and head to Whidbey Island to visit my family and growing nieces.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I can only mooch off the generosity of others and hopefully make it worth their grace.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the pleasure to stay with a few couch surfers and met others casually around town. So far this network has lead to nothing but kindred spirits and quality connection. I look forward to more!

Interests

The astrologer, Channi Nicholas became an important part of my sanity and trust in the universe through the pandemic and now, I listen to her app religiously. I think the best way to describe my level of familiarity is to say I know enough about astrology to realize how little I know about it.

I'm also very interested in how we can interrupt what feels like inevitable doom: dismantling harmful power structures, earth-building and shipping container housing, sustainable living and a more respectful relationship to land.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a marathon but I think the part about it that's really amazing is my brother's role.

For my 26th birthday, I decided to sign up for my local marathon, which happened to be on my birthday. Because of the significance, my older brother (who lived across the country at the time) agreed to run with me as a birthday gift. Running alone for hours on end during the 4 month training was life-changing; completing the race with my brother was a gift beyond words.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: dance moves and table-games
Learn: how to grow food and make it taste amazing. Also interested in learning how to save our species from destroying the planet and each other.
Share: quality meals and conversations
