About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to swap stories and smiles, far and wide, one human interaction at a time

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty down to earth when it comes to daily life - I watch my money, listen to my body, and work as hard as I play. My favorite food is ice cream - as my mom always says, "there's always room for ice cream - it melts between the cracks" - but this has become more exciting (read: tricky) as I have worked towards veganism over the past four years.

I recently quit a job I actually loved in corporate communication with a production company called InVision Communications - it allowed me to travel, work with all kinds of fabulous people, and have new experiences every day. I had been there since graduating from University and so now the plan is to travel until I find something else I am equally as passionate about, or until I run out of money - whichever comes first. I am so freaking excited for this new chapter.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in doing the right thing regardless of what you are told, and that good things happen to good people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used couch surfing in the past on international travels and it has been a great experience. I would like to get into it more, would LOVE to eventually be in a place where I could host, but I am currently 'homeless' since quitting my job to travel so am hoping to surf with many of you soon!

Interests

Clearly traveling is what excites me most - that's why I'm on a website like this. I love exploring new places, particularly the culture. The summer after my senior year I backpacked around Europe with three friends, and it was the most incredible experience. I loved every minute of it, but realized that while I got to see the amazing tourist sights (Eiffel Tower, Berlin Wall, The Colosseum, etc) I wasn't experiencing the actual way of life of the locals, and that's what really fascinates me most. Since them, I've studied abroad in Barbados, WWOOFed in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Nashville and Washington State. I like to consider myself pretty athletic and outdoorsy - I love team sports and my best friends today are from my college lacrosse team. Now that I don't partake in as many organized competitive sports myself, I am an avid supported of the Golden State Warriors, the San Jose Sharks, and I follow the A's, Giants, and 49ers. Most importantly, I love the moon, bicycles and dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books

COUNTRY MUSIC. plus a little bit of everything else !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As of recent the most amazing thing I've seen was one of the only two naturally boiling lakes in the world. This one was in Dominica, and you got there via 3 hour hike through some of the most beautiful tropical rainforest, up thousands of steps and down through the 'valley of desolation' where you can coat yourself in natural sulfur and bath in hot springs. It was a wonderfully exhausting day with incredible views of all of Dominica. Everyone needs to experience it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominica, Egypt, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
