ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty curious person and often have a couple small science experiments or projects going on. Nothing too involved, but I just really like the idea of trying something for myself and seeing what unexpected things I learn. Fascination is the most wonderful feeling.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't believe in karma per se. Like if you do X number of good things you'll have X number of good things done to you in return. I think of it more like if you live your life in a caring and compassionate way, you'll view the world through that lens and recognize those qualities in others. If you live your life in a self-serving way you're likely to see other people's selfish side as well. So meet more couchsurfers!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Heard about this from some fellow travelers in Colombia and thought it was genius. Really I've been unofficially couchsurfing for years. Since college I've taken countless road trips to visit friends and have slept on couches, floors, bathtubs... you name it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some of my favorite people in the world through couchsurfing. All have been really positive experiences with people wanting to share and connect. It kind of restores your faith in humanity to meet people who are kind and generous to you even though you were formerly strangers, and it's even more rewarding to offer that to someone else. I've also loved getting to know the couchsurfing community in Portland and have started going to meetups in other cities I travel to. Get out and meet more travelers!

Intereses

Indian/Thai/Vietnamese/Mexican food, kayaking, scuba diving, tennis, hiking, taking my dog places, brewing beers, drinking beers, banging on my drums, star-gazing, shoe-gazing, meeting people.

Música, películas y libros

Movies - Anything Kaufman, Tarantino, Kurosowa, Hitchcock, Bergman.
Books - Anything I come across but my favs are Vonnegut and Roald Dahl. Also Calvin and Hobbes comic books on lazy Sundays.

Music - Too many to list. I'm a sucker for horns and good drumming. I love going to live shows because I can jump around or dance to just about anything.

3 countries, 7 cities, 12 plane rides, and 2 bus trips in 16 days with a JetBlue All-you-can-jet pass. It's what started my couchsurfing career.

I'm always trying to drum on things so maybe I teach you or you teach me some cool rhythms or instruments. Could also talk a lot about brewing beer and places I want to scuba dive.
