About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Language, language, more language! Exploring, cooking, baking, travelling, loving, hugging, me-ing!

ABOUT ME

My name is Nguyen (yeah it's a first name too!), I'm also go by Minzey if people find my name hard to pronounce :)

I'm rather reserved when I'm with many people, but I make good companion for individuals or smaller group. Talking is fun :)

People find me a typical Asian with cheerful, excitable and (a little) crazy characteristics. I know I become quite annoying because I'm quite indecisive and moody sometimes, but like they say in Polish, "weather" (pogoda) is not in feminine form for no reason ;)

Other than that, I'm pretty laid back, talkative at times and told to be "dangerously cute" when I'm drunk (tried to walk on a thin fence while singing Disney and dancing :P)

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason.
Technique is woman's strength ;)

"I try to make sense of things. Which is why, I guess, I believe in destiny. There must be a reason that I am as I am. There must be."
- Andrew Martin, "Bicentennial Man"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, hanging out with people, visiting places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the chance to meet 2 guys from CouchSurfing, we spent some good time out together. I really enjoyed showing them my city.

Once I went with another girl to Fredrikstad, Norway. Lovely city, with a beautiful view from the seashore. Really enjoyed those days.

Interests

Food. I love trying food everywhere I go. Simply love to experience! :)

Languages. I love learning languages, even though I haven't mastered any. I know a bit of Finnish,Polish, a very tiny bit of French and Spanish. Was learning Japanese, remember nothing. Current progress, German!

I want to start writing novels. I have several ideas, both for children book and drama/fiction. I like a bit of superstitions in life, despite being afraid of horror things :P

And I'm a Disney fan. I love Pixar's movies, my favorite are Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. Anatasia is also a great one, though it's not Disney's. I sing Disney songs aaaaaaaaaaaaall day! XD

Music, Movies, and Books

I need to be movie-educated, because since I get to Poland, I found that I haven't watched so many top hits or classic movies in my life. I need suggestions for good movies, a bit of comedy or action is great! :)

My taste of music is rather chilling and relaxing. The songs I listen to can crack up a smile even in the worst mood. I love the mix of country, jazz, soul and ballad. Lately I'm catching up with metal. Rammstein! <3

The singers that always crack up a smile on my face are Jason Mraz, Passenger and Jack Johnson. I love their lyrics and their view about life!

I don't read much, which is a real shame, but I don't know why I get extremely sleepy every time I try to read a few pages. Back in Vietnam I enjoyed books about society, womanhood, inspirational stories. I like a bit of fantasy too, finished the whole Harry Potter series and Eragon (tried my best!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ate fried crickets and spider's leg. Yay.

Once I tried riding snow mobile on the frozen sea surface.. I could feel it cracking as I went, but at least I survived!

During my trip to Karpacz, I had to climb down a mountain when it was pitch black. My feet were hurting terribly, so I had to walk backwards. Tripped a few times, but it was fun. ;P

I also visited an old uranium mine called Kowarskie Kopalnie. The visit was interesting, we got to explore the mine with flashlight, touching real gems and seeing bats hanging down from the ceiling. It was really cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

Do you know how to open an air-tight jar easily? Put it upside down, hit the edge of the cap on the ground forth, back, left and right. Then try to open the cap, it would be a lot easier.

Countries I’ve Visited

Estonia, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Finland, Poland, Viet Nam
