Hi everyone!

My name is Mira, I am born and raised on a small Swedish island in the archipelago of Gothenburg. I am currently working on my debut novel; writing has always been a big part of me, as well as music. Used to play drums for many years. Nowadays, I am mostly playing covers by The Magnetic Fields on my ukulele. I recently came back from Montréal where I lived for three freezing but amazing winters.

Within the upcoming weeks I will finally be on the road again; a three week trip to South Korea and Japan. I am very excited, since this will be my first time in Asia. I have high expectations, especially on the food; I absolutely love Japanese and Korean dining. Also, I'd love to see some genuine culture far from the tourists traps. I am usually trying to stay away from the tourists when I am touristing..

My itinerary: First, I will be visiting a friend in Jeju, South Korea for two weeks. Then, I'll check out the city of Busan (the 6th of Dec) before I'll go by train to Seoul for two nights (Dec 7th and 8th). Here, I would love to be hosted and to see the best of the Korean urban sprawl.

On the 9th of Dec I'll be flying to Tokyo where I'll be staying for one week. I have absolutely no idea what to do in Tokyo, so please reach out! Lastly, I'll be flying back to Sweden from Tokyo on Dec 15th. :(

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am very keen about traveling and exploring foreign cultures, and as I love to meet new people I think Couchsurfing is a great community to be part of. Since I am usually traveling on my own, company and exchange on the road is very appreciated.
