I was born and raised in Qingdao (often spelt as Tsingtao, a city in Northeast China known for its beer), immigrated to Toronto, Canada when I was 10, and moved between China and Canada a couple times when I was a child. I finally settled in Vancouver, Canada in 2010, and now studies in McGill University in Montréal. This year I am doing a year abroad in England. As of now, I am culturally 50% Chinese and 50% Westernised.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I am very passionate about culture, diversity, and therefore a aficionado for travelling. Because of parents' work, I travelled quite a bit when I was child as well as during teenage years. Also because I study sociology, anthropology and communications in university, I am deeply fascinated by different cultures, traditions and mindsets.

I am on Couchsurfing because I'd like to genuinely make an effort to reach out to nice and friendly local people in the places I travel. I believe that besides enjoying the sightseeing while in a foreign place, getting know the local lifestyle is another very very necessary and important thing of which we shall be mindful in order to immerse ourselves in the culture, and to make the most out of the journey.

Intereses

Watching documentaries, jotting down thoughts and writing small journals in different forms (quotes, poems, diary, prayers), reading, learning languages, ice skating (a bit of figure skating), basketball, volleyball, photography.
