ABOUT ME

I am originally Canadian but have recently acquired British Citizenship, just by hanging around long enough and of course paying the exorbitant fees attached. I live in Aberdeen, Scotland (which I moved to in November!) I have now lived in three of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom.

I lived for 2.5 years in Swansea where I studied my masters, and then moved to London for 4 years for work. I work in Higher Education promoting education to non UK students and look to improve their experience while they are here. I love my job!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have opened my home to people allowing those who find themselves in the South Wales area a place to crash, and have utilized and hopefully will continue to utilize the service to meet and stay with people worldwide.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had one fantastic experience where I stayed with Sarah in Salem, MA (USA); and I have hosted several people in Swansea.

I prefer television to movies, but sometimes a good movie is just what you need.

I'm in a book club, but I sometimes get sidetracked with what I want to read instead.

I love country music above all forms, but will listen to just about anything and if I like it - no matter what it is, I will not be ashamed to admit it.

In 2012 a friend and I drove around Jordan in a rental car. We got scammed in Wadi Rum, literally got stuck between a rock and a 'wet place' (a pool of canyon water) in Petra, and almost drove into a hoard of Bedouin pirates on our last day.

In 2009 I hitchhiked from Swansea to Terifa, Spain to make my way to Morocco for Charity. It was an amazing experience, and really opened me up to stepping out of my comfort zone and experiencing new things.
