Overview
About Me
Hi! I am Mirka and I am 22 years old. When I was 15 I moved to Edinburgh to improve my English and I liked it so much that I stayed there for university. I’m an almost 4th year chemical engineering student (I’m currently taking a year off, hoping to return to studying in September). During my gap year, I was an au pair in Chile for two months and travelled South America for a month after that. That’s when I fell in love with the Latin culture and Spanish language (although my Spanish is very bad haha). I love meeting new people and I’m always up for any adventure. I love doing thrilling stuff such as skydiving, white river rafting and I would love to get more into scuba diving (I’ve only done it once and I really enjoyed it).
Unfortunately I am not able to host at this moment, hopefully when I move into a new flat!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m currently travelling with my friend in Spain where we’re hitchhiking from Barcelona to Malaga and we’re trying to meet as many people as possible on the way!
Interests
I am a really adventurous person and I like being outside. My interests include hiking, camping, snowboarding, swimming and travelling. I also enjoy reading (I got a kindle as a present just few months ago and I already read about 15 books!). I really love trying new things so I am up for pretty much anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music and right now I’m really into Spanish music so if you have any recommendations please feel free to share :)
In both movies and books I like fiction, especially thrillers. I also like watching sitcoms such as Friends, Big bang theory and How I met your mother.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm I can’t pick one, but one of my favourite moments was watching sunrise over the salt flats in Bolivia or swimming with sting rays in the Caribbean Sea in Mexico.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can’t cook but I’d love to go out for dinner so you can show me your favourite place to eat (however I am a vegetarian so it might be a bit tricky). I can also share my travel stories and even teach you a little bit about chemistry. I’m always about giving back to the community so I’ll be as helpful as possible with cleaning or any help needed around the house.
