关于我

Hello!
I and my loved partner Zuzana love hiking and exploring new places. We currently live together in Prague, Czechia. Originally, we come from a town at the river Labe (or Elbe) surrounded by nearby hills and called Ústí nad Labem.

During our daily life, I work in IT and my partner as a social worker. We like to cook (e.g. asian cousine), watch anime together (Ghibli movies, Sousou no Frieren, Attack on Titan,...), learn Japanese, or focus on our individual hobbies. For me its e.g. tinkering (currently with stuff like smart home), or trying to find time for organizing my notes and creating my app or making videos (yeah, ADHD brain ^^'). My partner loves pottery, reading books, or writing stories. During weekends we like to go outside for hikes, cycling or events. In the city we visit swing dance lessons, meet with friends in tea houses, play board games, eat out in (often Japanese) restaurants, or go to events by Czech-Japanese Association.

I had a dream to experience a "daily life" in Japan one day. It came true two years ago, when I was able to stay in Japan for half a year as an exchange student at Tohoku University in Sendai, and the experience was wonderful. My partner visited Japan near the end of my stay and also fell in love with Japan. After coming back to Czechia and settling down in our apartment, we decided to visit Japan once more this year and walk the Kumano-Kodo pilgrimage trail as one of our main goals.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I’ve wanted to try Couchsurfing for many years. I believe it’s a great way to experience travel from a different perspective - meeting interesting people, discovering local places, all while exchanging stories and insights from diverse cultures. This year, I’d really like to finally give it a go!

音乐、电影和书籍

Music: Quite a variety of genres (nearly everything except hiphop, rap). Mostly soundtracks from movies and games, 80s 90s pop, irish music, classical music, rock, symphonic metal, japanese songs, vocaloids,...

Movies: One of my favorites are definitely movies from studio Ghibli, I've seen nearly all of them and love em. I also like western animated movies from e.g. Pixar, Dreamworks - The Incredibles, How to train your dragon, Inside out, ... As for feature films, I like scifi, psychological or kind of philosphical movies.

Books: I am not good at keeping up nor fast at reading, so I haven't read much at all, but I liked RUR by Karel Čapek, Hitchiker's guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Norwegian wood by Haruki Murakami, and am currently trying to read a very interesting and thoughtful "Everything is F*cked" by Mark Manson (PS it's not as negative as it sounds, quite the opposite I'd say).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Probably the most adventurous thing I have done was in 2017, when I and my friend signed up for the Europe's Lowcost challenge. With max 100 euro spent per person in only 10 days, we travelled towards the northern part of Europe and back, going from Czechia through Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia to Finland, and then back through Sweden, Denmark, Germany back, hitchhinking on the way, sleeping at strangers' places and completing bonus quests for additional points. We haven't won nor placed high, but that wasn't the point - we have definitely experienced an epic adventure, stayed at places I would never image I would stay at and felt the kindness of people we met on the way.

教,学,和分享

I enjoy exchanging thoughts and experiences with others—things we've learned, seen, or reflected on in life. I might not always know how to start the conversation, but once we hit the right topic—whether it’s about people, the world, technology, science, language, cooking, or anything else—I’m all in for sharing, discussing, and listening.

我可以与沙发主分享些什么

Anything mentioned above - we can definitely talk about tips for hiking, cooking, technologies, and similar stuff. ^^ If there is any physical help needed in the household, we will be glad to help in return for being able to stay.
