Overview
About Me
I'm doing some traveling across the US working in National Parks while trying to earn my MS in environmental management.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see the world without going broke. I also would love to really get immersed into the culture of the place I'm visiting. Of course, I'm a master's student, so money is always a concern as conventional traveling is expensive. I want to meet locals and see the hole-in-the-wall establishments that make that town special. If you can show me the most beautiful natural views that'll make my trip :)
Interests
CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, rock climbing, running, backpacking, hiking, singing, ukulele, loom knitting
Music, Movies, and Books
World music, indie and ukulele music are my favorite. I read Swedish crime fiction mostly and am newly obsessed with game of thrones too
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent this past summer in Utah, in the High Uinta Wilderness as a wilderness ranger. I got to backpack for weeks in the wilderness on my own and really experience the mountains :) I'm traveling back to Chicago from Acadia National Park after working as a ranger this fall as well!
Teach, Learn, Share
As a guest I'll be happy to buy my hosts a beer or two or share some of my skills! I can teach phrases in different languages that I've learned! I'm also pretty knowledgeable about environmental issues and sciences as well as small skills like knitting, and climbing, just ask! I'd love to go climbing, hiking, or learn about life in the town of the people hosting me :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some drinks, a cooked meal, sharing some skills I've learned, and I'll always leave the home clean and treat it with respect
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, England, France, Italy, Mexico, Vatican City State
