About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to understand the world, how it's all connected; how it all works; and how to influence it for the better.

ABOUT ME

I know for a fact that I'm a twenty-something year old guy who is cheerful most of the time, distracted a lot of the time, overthinking some of the time and irritated by unthoughtful rude people once in a while. I pride myself on (trying to be/) being as tolerant as possible and as friendly as I think people deserve plus a bit extra.

PHILOSOPHY

Chance is the mother of all luck.

The four most important values to me are friendliness, wisdom, freedom and tolerance. So I live my life fighting for the freedom to be myself, searching for wisdom wherever I can find it. All while being as tolerant and friendly to people as I hope to be treated by them. Because If you want to chance the world, you have to lead by example.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I help by surfing and hosting whenever I'm capable, and informing people of the concept of couchsurfing whenever I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting other couchsurfers is like travelling without leaving home. You get the chance to meet new people and learn new ideas without having to leave behind school, friends and home.
Surfing to me is getting the chance to learn about a new place or culture while being part of it, without actually moving there or having some agency arrange it for you.
"Drealocks are a lot like couchsurfing and hitchhiking; it's easy, cheap, and you meet a lot of nice people because of them."

Interests

I love listening to music, watching movies, talking about life and philosophy, telling anecdotes or hearing stories, playing games and juggling.

Music, Movies, and Books

The best books I've read are Patrick Suskind's 'Perfume', Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' and Terry Goodkind's serie 'The Sword of Truth'.
I mostly listen to Irish music, psy-trance, reggae and some old rockbands like Pink Floyd (which is my favorite), REM and Deep Purple.
Above all, I love films and I have a lot of them. I mostly like comedy, but I'm willing to watch (almost) anything that isn't cliche.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed the Mont Ventoux in France on my bicycle, and I've walked 160km of the grande traverse de Ardenne. One of the most awesome thing I've ever seen is the new years-fireworks over Amsterdam from my balcony.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a lot of different things; standing on your head or walking on your hands, swimming, juggling and a lot of other sports, but also philosophy, history and politics. Not to forget; I can teach you how to roll a joint that will make people go; 'Wow, nice...'.

I would really like to learn some new juggling tricks, new ideas and of course new people.

I would love to share my love for music and this beautiful city I live in. Ofcourse I would also like to share any new knowledge we can come up with.

Countries I’ve Visited
