About Me

CURRENT MISSION

enjoy Mexico!

ABOUT ME

A dreamer. Cynic and romantic. Made of contradictions. Born in the false country and false time. Asocial and adoring clubs. A beginning author with one publication. Ambitious. Create problems and then solve them. Stubborn and self-confident. Fall in love too often. Love books more than some people. That's me in few words. Enough for the beginning.

My name is Natalia but I prefer to be called Nats. I'm an interpreter but I don't like this profession. I'm a writer, software engineer and teacher. I like the writer's lifestyle. And you'll hear about me soon. I promise. =)

I'm fond of travelling. I already was to Serbia, Germany, Poland,Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. I'd like to visit Iceland very much and some exotic countries or remote islands.

Paris, je t'aime! I have a dream: to stand on the Eiffel Tower with a baguette in my hand and with a berette on my head =))) France is the country of love...I think Godard described this feeling better than anybody else...

I think I'm oldfashioned and I adore 50ies and 60ies. These times were more colourful and stylish.

I love poets, especially those who were my ex-boyfriends.

I love to write and receive long letters or cards or books from all over the world.

I like writing poems when travelling by train.

I like to listen to silence and feel the rain drops on my skin.

I like to read books very slowly, rereading each paragraph to recognize some hidden thoughts.

I like to get messages here, so don't be shy and write! Your message could make me really happier =)))

PHILOSOPHY

This is the life: the one goes to Paris, the other not.

Only who hears the butterflies singing, knows the taste of clouds.

If you have lemons - make lemonade! (Chinise proverb)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like bands with interesting and original names. My personal note: If I discover a band called, for example, "Sexy Sushi" or "Cocteau Twins", I always listen to their songs. If these guys called their band this way, their music can't be boring! =)

What I'm having in my player right now:
Duffy, Bernard Herrmann, Electrovamp, Two Door Cinema Club, Morrissey, Soap&Skin, No bra, Parenthetical Girls, Bauhaus, Electricity in Our Homes, Au pairs, I blame Coco, Plastiscines, Uh Huh Her, Au Revoir Simone, Tracey Thorn, Anthony and the Johnsons, Broken Social Scene, Loreena MacKennitt, The Velvet Underground, A Dancing Beggar, Ingrid Michaelson, Rachael Yamagata, Gym Class Heroes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles, Annie Hall, The Filthy Youth, Leighton Meester, Cocteau Twins, The Republic Tigers, Katie Melua, Simon&Garfunkel, Mel Torme, The Pierces

I love the works of E.A. Poe, E.T.A. Hoffmann, G. Meyrinck, F. Kafka, J.P.Sartre, A.Camus, J.Cortazar, F.Pessoa, S.King, J.Steinbeck, C.Castaneda.

As I write poems, I adore reading poetry. My faves are Erich Kaestner, Ernst Jandl, Eugen Gomringer, Paul Celan, Sascha Andersen, konkrete Poesie, Heinz Kahlau, N. Gumilev, V. Mayakovsky, S. Yesenin, A. Akhmatova, Pablo Neruda, F.G. Lorca, Seher Cakir, Nazim Hikmet and...well...me =))))

What about movies, I enjoy everything which is arthouse and trash. I adore French New Wave directors (Godard, Truffaut), Italian classics (Antonioni, Fellini, Pasolini, Visconti, Skola), German expressionism ("The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari", "Nosferatu"), old Holliwood movies by Capra, Wilder and especially Hitchcock. Vertigo is my all time favourite!

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach? Hmm... I love to cook and know some delicious Russian, Kurdish, Serbian and German dishes. So if you'd like to, I can teach you to cook them. =)))
