About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Fully appreciate the moment.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and don't nearly have enough time or resources to do this enough. I am 35, currently living in Berkeley working on randomized clinical trials for malaria prevention in HIV-positive children. Just moved back to Berkeley after 3 years in Uganda.

I'm a pretty fun-loving person, but in a responsible manner, I think. I love being outside, exploring new places and new people. Through travel and my Peace Corps experience, I have friends all over the world and am always looking to expand further.

PHILOSOPHY

Haven't sat down to try to articulate this as of yet, but basically, I don't sweat the small stuff and give love to get love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Was amazingly able to host 2 sets of folks while living in Uganda and made a life-long friend in Amsterdam during my first surfing experience!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All positive, wonderful experiences and always looking forward to the next opportunity.

Interests

Cooking, swimming, crotchet, gardening, wine. I love reading a good book and sitting outside on the porch with good friends sharing a glass of wine and the events of the day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love movies, most especially dramas: The Departed, The Lives of Others, and just about anything Hitchcock. Appreciate almost any type of music that is appealing to my ear, most notably reggae, latin, grunge. LOVE to dance and be danced with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How can one choose just one? Constantly searching for that next amazing thing and some days its simply the smell of an African morning as I ride on the back of a motorcycle to work.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and bake and having guests is the perfect opportunity to exercise that hobby.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Ethiopia, Hungary, Kenya, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, South Africa, Switzerland, Tanzania

Countries I’ve Lived In
