About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do something that scares me on every continent

ABOUT ME

I smile all of the time, believe people are inherently good, and that every problem in live will sort itself out. I find beauty in every day life and find a silver lining in the most interesting places. I enjoy meeting new people and learning from and hearing about their experiences - en serio - I'm always inspired by others adventures.

Currently am looking into the spiritual aspects of life. I am planning on heading to a couple meditation sessions in the coming weeks and already know a few great labyrinths around the area - there are many more I would like to try if anyones interested. I would like to make my actions more intentional - I already have a feel for what I want from life but am trying to figure out the best way to give back.

My 100 Things to Do Before I Die list is actually 220 things long (and growing). I love listening to live music - jazz, folk, and anything that makes me smile.

Update: I am now friends with a nice old man who is a beekeeper a ways out of town. I spent a heat filled Monday harvesting orange blossom honey and now am sure I want my own hive.

PHILOSOPHY

Always look on the bright side of life.

If you're unhappy with something in your life then change it. This has always been my advice and I get bored easily with people who complain about their lives but aren't willing to do something about it.

As I encounter problems in life, if it is something that a year from now will matter, then I am allowed to be upset about it; if not, then I just let it go and don't waste my energies worrying, being angry, or upset since its not worth it to me. Essentially - don't take life too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe in travel karma and have appreciated when other travelers have helped me, so I pass it on whenever I get the opportunity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've unofficially crashed on a fellow traveler's couch in Rome and it was a great experience to see a different side of the city.

Through CS I have met some wonderful people who have made me smile more times than I can count - thanks!

Interests

Hobbies (a quick list): Skiing, Snowboarding, reading, hiking, cooking, camping, drinking tea (I'm a tea connoisseur), traveling (obvio), volunteering, classic movie watching, chocolate eating (I'm a chocolate connoisseur as well), beekeeping (I mean it would be a hobby if I were more permanent and had a place to keep them), football and hockey watching, road biking, running, snow angel making, salsa dancing, etc...
and I always want to learn something new - currently training for the Big Sur Half Marathon in November and weight training.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

4 months in South America has left me with too many to decide from but if I have to choose...

My first time mountain biking in the rain down "Death Road" - La Paz, Bolivia.

or from previous travels...

11km hiking (more like stair climbing) along the Great Wall and then ziplining down. - Beijing, China

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach math, practical finance, best restaurants in and around Denver or Fort Collins, and advice about the places I've traveled.

I really want to learn to play guitar and speak Spanish without thinking about it and Salsa naturally. And I want to learn how to say no gracefully. How to live life without regrets. How to meditate.
