About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Think Green!

ABOUT ME

I'm 23 years young, just graduated from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 in BA Geography. Decided to put that degree into practice and went travelling for 4 months! Started off in Barcelona, and then headed over to Australia to explore most of the East Coast. I've had an amazing time and have met so many cool people, that even though I was soooo scared to travel alone, I'm really happy that I did as it's been an unforgettable experience :)
Now that I'm back at home I've started a Masters degree at the University of Birmingham in Air Pollution Management; I'll be enjoying the student lifestyle for another 12 months, whilst trying to get away to as many different places as I can across Europe!

PHILOSOPHY

I live life how I want, I've been independent from a young age and that's what I thrive on. It's not really a philosophy, but it's what makes me happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hopefully will be couchsurfing for the first time next month & if it goes well then would like to offer up a couch too.

Interests

Human Geography, environmental, ethical, social and feminism issues. I take a huge interest in current affairs and politics, love animals (especially lions and cats), travelling, exploring. I'm a very curious person, I like to hear other people's stories rather than tell my own - I think it's because I'm saving them for a book I know I want to write! I love long conversations that last until dawn. I like going out, but sometimes I prefer to stay in! Most importantly, I love trying new things, especially those that I wouldn't originally consider. I have many things that interest me, but I'm yet to find a true passion, so I'll just keep searching! At the minute, I can't sit still and live for leaving the country at any given opportunity.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly love indie/rock/britpop/alt dance music, but also Motown and solo artists of different genres. A few personal favourites include Oasis, The Kinks, Damien Rice, Kings of Leon, We Are Scientists, Basement Jaxx, Foo Fighters, Ocean Colour Scene and the Charlatans.

I work at a movie store so have many films at my disposal for free, which means I'll give anything a try and don't mind what I watch these days. I like all types of genres, from action to drama, but rom-coms and horrors are the types of films I probably least enjoy. Favourites include Zoolander, Pretty Persuasion, The Hole, Cruel Intentions and Superbad.

I don't read as much now as I used to when I was younger, which is something that makes me sad. I hope that when I finish my Masters degree I'll be able to read many of the great books I've always meant to read! Despite that, my favourite book will probably always be Goodnight Mr Tom. How to be Idle & How to Be Free are also one of best book series I've come across!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hanging out on a deserted island in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef.. Whales swimming alongside and putting on a show for us on our old wooden pearl lugger boat on the way back to shore.. Best day ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure I can teach you anything, but I hope I can share my experiences and learn from yours.
